Key employer forms

When an accident disables an employee for more than three days, the employer must file an Employer’s First Report of Injury with the Commission within 10 days of notice — filable online through CompHub. Employee claims are also filed through CompHub, which has replaced most of Maryland’s paper process.

Deadlines that matter

Employees must give the employer notice within 10 days of an accidental injury (§ 9-704). Claims should be filed within 60 days, and are completely barred if not filed within two years of the accident (§ 9-709). Employers file first reports within 10 days of notice when disability exceeds three days.
